Faith • Resilience • Healing

There is beauty in the scars we carry.

In Broken Pieces: There Is Beauty in Scars | A Kaleidoscope of Colors, Tracey Stankus opens her life with honesty, faith, and compassion, sharing a journey through family struggles, grief, addiction, loss, healing, and the strength to keep moving forward.

For anyone who has felt alone

A story that meets you in the hard places.

Life can leave us feeling lost, unheard, overlooked, or separated from everyone around us. Broken Pieces was written from within those difficult places.

Through personal memories and reflections, Tracey explores the pain of complicated relationships, addiction, grief, caregiving, disappointment, and change—while returning again and again to faith, prayer, perseverance, and the hope that healing is still possible.

“The journey teaches us that scars are beautiful.”

From Broken Pieces

Themes within the journey

Faith. Healing. Common ground.

Tracey’s story does not pretend that pain disappears. Instead, it looks at what can happen when we acknowledge what we have lived through, protect our peace, lean into faith, and continue forward.

Faith in Difficult Seasons

Prayer, Scripture, grace, and trust in God remain central as Tracey reflects on life’s darkest and most uncertain moments.

Healing With the Scars

Healing is not presented as forgetting. It can mean setting boundaries, choosing peace, forgiving, growing, and carrying hard-earned wisdom forward.

Hope Through Connection

Even when our experiences are different, compassion and understanding can remind us that no one has to walk through every struggle alone.

Meet Tracey Stankus

A life shaped by perseverance, purpose, and faith.

T.L. Stankus is a registered nurse, mother, cancer survivor, and author whose story has been shaped by responsibility, caregiving, family hardship, personal loss, and a determination to keep moving forward.

Her writing is deeply personal, but its invitation is wider: to recognize the humanity in one another, to make room for healing, and to remember that even after difficult seasons, renewal is still possible.

My hope is that readers feel seen, heard, valued, and reminded that they are never truly alone.
